A Dreams Begin Here Magnet School

MicroSociety
A brand new facility, state of the art technology, and a one-of-a kind magnet program! North Shore K-8 is the home of Duval County's only MicroSociety education system. MicroSociety is based on the premise that children learn best by doing. In a MicroSociety, students participate in simulated activities in order to learn the day-to-day functions of the real world. Students create and participate in the operations of various endeavors including business ventures, government, banking, publishing and judicial systems. In addition to maintaining a working and productive society, students will have the opportunity to answer their persistent and relevant questions of "Why do I need to know this?" and "How will this help me when I grow up?" North Shore's unique magnet program will provide your child with practical experience and academic knowledge giving them a competitive edge both in the academic and business arenas.
