SEAM is an academic honors program that gives students unprecedented opportunities in the fields of science, math, engineering and technology. This program is housed in a state-of-the-art facility which includes a robotics lab, two engineering labs, research science labs and a CAD lab. Students participate in core classes that incorporate engineering, science, and architecture. Hands-on instruction promotes success in students’ honors/AP courses as well as their electives. The program specializes in preparing students for college majors in all engineering disciplines, focusing on electrical, mechanical and civil engineering, and research sciences including environmental, forensic, biological, physical and chemical. Having been named a National Model by the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC), this is certainly the most unique and comprehensive STEM program in the county.
Utilization of Magnet Schools
The school district strives to have the utilization of all schools between 85% and 105% of their current capacity. The 2011-2012 Utilization of each magnet school helps determine the number of new magnet openings a school may offer for the 2012-2013 magnet lottery.
