International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP)

flag

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) provides a rigorous inquiry-based curriculum. An international person is a communicator, risk taker, knowledgeable, critical thinker, an inquirer, well-balanced, reflective, principled, open-minded and caring. Students are taught essential elements through the themes: "Who we are;" "Where we are in place and time;" "How we express ourselves;" "How the world works;" "How we organize ourselves;" and "Sharing the planet." The IB PYP program at our authorized and candidate schools helps students gain both an understanding and appreciation for people and cultures around the world.

Utilization of Magnet Schools
The school district strives to have the utilization of all schools between 85% and 105% of their current capacity. The 2011-2012 Utilization of each magnet school helps determine the number of new magnet openings a school may offer for the 2012-2013 magnet lottery.
