Utilization of Magnet Schools
The school district strives to have the utilization of all schools between 85% and 105% of their current capacity. The 2011-2012 Utilization of each magnet school helps determine the number of new magnet openings a school may offer for the 2012-2013 magnet lottery.

Gifted And Academically Talented
The Gifted and Academically Talented Program offers students an enriched academic learning experience. Classes include more in-depth application of skills through special projects and hands-on experiences. Those interested in the gifted program must be staffed gifted. Gifted activities are incorporated into academic programs. Program continuity is available to gifted and academically talented middle schools

Tours: January 12, 19, February 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 9:30 a.m.
Special Information: Students receive a solid foundation in the basic subject areas through high-quality teaching strategies usually reserved for the intellectually talented. This philosophy does not believe learning should go faster, instead the "inquiry method" is taught to help students solve problems on their own or in teams. Teachers take students from their current academic level and move them forward in the standards-based curriculum taken from the research-based Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (www.fldoe.org) and the National Center on Education and the Economy (www.ncee.org). We offer Extended Day before and after school; registration required. Primary point of entry is kindergarten; limited openings 1st – 5th grades.

Multiple Intelligences
Multiple Intelligences is a theory recognizing that there are various forms of intelligences and students are able to learn in a way that's best for each of them. Children learn and express what is learned through eight different intelligences: Verbal/Linguistic (word smart), Musical/Rhythmic(music smart), Logical/Mathematical (number smart), Visual/Spatial (art smart), Bodily/Kinesthetic (body smart), Naturalist (nature smart), Intrapersonal (self smart), and Interpersonal (people smart). Teachers present the curricula in a way that supports each child's individual learning style.
