Utilization of Magnet Schools
The school district strives to have the utilization of all schools between 85% and 105% of their current capacity. The 2011-2012 utilization of each magnet school helps determine the number of new magnet openings a school may offer for the 2012-2013 magnet lottery.

A Learning Community – Multiple Intelligences
Academics and discipline are the foundation of the Learning Community theme. Research-based instructional strategies are embedded throughout the entire school community. Students learn basic content, apply it to real-world programs, and then learn to self-assess their work using the standards. A focus is placed on how each child learns best through Multiple Intelligences, a theory that recognizes there are eight different pathways to learning: Verbal/Linguistic, Musical/Rhythmic, Logical/Mathematical, Visual/Spatial, Bodily/Kinesthetic, Naturalist, Intrapersonal and Interpersonal.
