Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP)

KIPP, the Knowledge Is Power Program, is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life. KIPP schools share a core set of operating principles known as the Five Pillars: High Expectations, Choice & Commitment, More Time, Power to Lead, and Focus on Results. There are currently 109 KIPP schools in 20 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 32,000 students. KIPP currently has one charter school in Duval with two additional schools planned for 2012-2013.

Mission: KIPP Voice believes that by creating an environment focused on academics, culture and character, students will reach the goals of graduating from college and having a positive impact on the world.

Special Information: The school will focus on world culture with students modeling school values of vision, optimism, imagination, community, and empowerment through multi-culturally themed celebrations, performances and activities. A character education program will encourage empathy and understanding.

Mission: KIPP provides a safe, disciplined, college preparatory learning environment that allows students to learn at high levels.
Year Opened: 2011-2012

Special Information: Extended school day starting at 7:20 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. Students have instrumental music instruction combining arts with a rigorous college preparatory curriculum.
